"The stage was set for Visit London's "The World in London" Party at Waterloo Pier, with guests enjoying a flight on the London Eye before boarding the Silver Sturgeon for Winter Pimm's, Gin & Tonic and Prosecco.
Entertainment included Bollywood dancers, the eclectic fresh soul funk artist, Nathan Watson and style icon, DJ Dusty O. The Chief Yeoman Warder provided a more traditional London sight aboard, as spectacular Tower Bridge opened during the cruise.
In the aft, the Ensign Room was completely transformed as an eclectic boutique London bar complete with massage chairs to complete the chill out zone look.
The River Room resonated the colors of London's vibrant nightlife with a giant Black Taxi mirror ball on the dance floor. Live booths interactively showed an Afro Wig Shop, an Indian Bangle Shop, a Camden Tattoo Parlour, a Dalston Art Studio and many more London experiences.
"rhubarb" Food Design celebrated London's multi cultural society with a multitude of stalls such as The Billingsgate Seafood Stall, The Smithfield Market Stall, Brick Lane Stall and London's "Pudding Lane" Miniature Dessert Stall.
Well the sponsors were still buzzing this morning about last night's amazing event - always a good sign! When the last man on the dance floor is a former world-record-holding-gold-medal-winning athlete and national treasure (Jonathan Edwards - who also had his nails painted pink at the nail bar) you know it's gone well.
Seb Coe and Sir Keith Mills both thanked Visit London and their Partners for last night's spectacular event. They know it was a team effort and they know London was generous in giving so many services in kind. As a demonstration of what London can do and can offer, our objective was 100% achieved through your generosity and hard work. Thanks comes from everyone at Visit London, LOCOG and sponsors across the globe. Everyone was literally blown away by the London Eye and the Silver Sturgeon experience (including the plentiful food drink and non-stop entertainment and "uniquely London" moments)."
